Erectile Dysfunction Treatments

Oral medications to treat Erectile Dysfunction (ED)
Oral drugs that are known as PDE inhibitors help increase blood flow in the penis. These medications are approved for use by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to treat ED:
- Viagra® (sildenafil citrate)
- Cialis® (tadalafil)
- Levitra® (vardenafil HCl)
- Stendra® (avanafil)
These drugs require normal nerve function to be effective so we must determine if you have a compromised nervous system prior to use. 70% of men report that these PDE5 inhibitors improve erectile response and have better erections. People taking nitrates for a heart condition should not take any PDE5 inhibitors. It is always a good idea to talk to your doctor before taking PDE5 inhibitors or any medication for that matter.
Testosterone Therapy
In rare cases where low levels of testosterone is the reason for the erectile dysfunction issues, it may indicate testosterone therapy in combination with ED drugs.
Vacuum Erection Device
This is a plastic tube that slips over the penis. Once a seal is established with the skin of the body, a pump makes a low-pressure vacuum resulting in an erection. An elastic ring at the base of the penis holds the blood in the penis maintaining an erection for up to 30 minutes.
